Shadow Report January 19th at the SISC
What a day we had at the Sydney International Shooting Centre. Our first club shoot at this venue. It’s a great facility, with electronic targets for rimfire and turning targets on a separate range for all types of fire. We had 4 hours of time to play, and play we did. Some of our members went through 4 boxes of ammo. Somebody stop me!
We started with rimfire at 25m on the electronic range then moved over to the second range for some turning targets action. Here we ramped up the skill levels with targets at 25m, turning for 10 seconds per mag and 20 seconds allowed to reload magazines. Yes, that’s right, we implemented a new discipline. Timed magazine loading! So, in between the target cycles, you had 20 seconds to reload two mags before the targets turned again. Its was great fun and a new skill to master at the same time. Start practising your mag loading, as we will definitely do it again! After this we moved to 10m precision for another 50 rounds. The fun went on and on.
Next time we shoot at the SISC, I recommend you attend. Given we had 4 plus hours of range time, we may even make it a double or triple comp. Just makes sure you bring enough ammo!
Results: You can look at the final rankings in the results page, but let’s just say Mrs Fox was outstanding in Rimfire. Mr Wiley Fox will be very unhappy and wishing he printed his electronic score. Or maybe he purposely didn’t print it, as he was too embarrassed. Sarn N No.1 in turning targets by only two points!
Lucas D the best shooter and first place in the junior category.
In Centrefire, Chad Oh gets a medal for participation. And there’s a lesson for all the youngsters out there……you can be the best, if nobody else shows up.
Stay straight and tight and everyone gets a medal for participating.
