The Shadow Report – Saturday July 28

A new range, new club firearms, new small targets and a new time on a Saturday.

Yes folks, we had our first shoot at Condell Park. We were warmly greeted by Terrific Tony and Lovely Linda who manage the range. They could not have been more accommodating. They were so wonderful that our members should be “on bended knee”.

At the end of the comp, we engaged in chatting with them.  Linda said she recognised Glenn …. a lead in line if ever I’ve heard one… I’m not sure exactly what I heard next, but something about she remembers the naughty ones and cleaning the house.

Anyway, onto business. 17 members doing the two-comp thing, and our new shooters still haven’t got the memo about showing off by hitting 10’s.

The second comp had a twist with the smallest target I’ve ever seen (or couldn’t see). It scored 50, 40 or 30 for a hit, making a big difference for comp 2 scores if you got it. Only six shooters got it, 5 of them being new shooters!

Due to an updated club privacy policy, we can’t mention members names anymore. So, the following names are made up aliases.  If any names cause offence, then maybe “take a knee”.

Comp 1 Rimfire 10m:

New shooter “Slick G” who is a young new member, absolutely wiped the floor with a tonne of 10’s. Watch out everyone he’s very slick.  New shooter “The Man S” second and “Slick Senior” third.

Comp 2 Rimfire 20m and 25m:

“The Man S” took the silverware by popping a round smack bang in the middle of the small target snagging him 50 points.

“Slick Senior” 2nd picking up 30 from the small target and “Brandy L” 3rd also snagging a 30.

Showpony Centrefire: “Sly Dog L”, “The Hammer H” and “Hurricane T” all went bang bang with their pew pews.

Stay straight and tight …. and get down on bended knee!
