The Shadow Report – Sunday June 30
Another Sunday, another batch of paper riddled with holes and another pile of brass scattered over the range floor.
There was a different vibe today with the group of members who attended. There seemed to be a lack of culture. Just a ragtag bunch of members lacking any sort of refinement and taste. Think of your average VB drinker ….. that’s the class of person I’m talking about that was there today.
Maybe it was because the cultured members of our club were off at some Italian eat-athon discussing the elegance of Tuscan Etruscan whilst swilling vino pregiato. Damn them and their European hoo-harr, we had a great time without them.
Has anybody noticed the new club captain lately? Does he swan around the range like he’s the new sheriff in town. Flashing his badge and yelling “respect my authoritah”. Well today he took this to a new level by using a 357-magnum cop revolver.
Next, he’ll be turning up with his motorcycle pretending he’s Eric Estrada in CHiPs. But it’s not all his fault, he is being egged on by another member who gave him the cop revolver. The unnamed member said with this gun, “rispetteranno la tua autorità”.
On a serious note, the shoot ran very smoothly. It’s a credit to all members and their conduct. Everyone chipping in to help and most importantly ready and efficient when it was their turn. The strings were conducted like a well-oiled (olive oiled?) machine. Let’s not forget it was a very safe shoot. Our members are showing great skill in firearm control and their strict adherence to safe handling.
So let’s talk results. We shot all strings at 15.7m’s.
Rimfire; Sarn N just re-wrote the book on high scores with 446. Geoff B in 2nd with Hoa 3rd.
Show-pony-centrefire; Brent H was on fire today with his 38 and a score of 404. He gave Glenn L a hiding (which is saying something) who was 2nd and Fred R in 3rd. Special mention to Ray K who is on the way up in 4th. Impressive, given he is still running in the motor of his new Springfield.
