Anyway… here’s an update on yet another exciting and enjoyable Sunday shoot. This week only 12 members attended. We all know that’s because St Marys is a bit far for some. On the positive side, it finished early for those that need to report home for domestic chores, but better still, there was some free time left for those who enjoy our passion that don’t want to go home. Several members loved having the extra time to hone skills and work on techniques…..or just waste ammunition. Its nice to have a free shoot at the end, which for me is all about learning more and improving.
This week we had our illustrious Club Secretary in attendance. Her presence is uplifting to all members. Not only because of her exceptional commitment to the club, which ensures everybody is compliant, organised and educated, but because she is a crack shot also. Watching her in action is inspirational. I aspire to one day be half as good as her.
Let’s talk about some results. Glenn tops the overall and rimfire scores this week with 437 points. He was by far and away the best shooter with grouping’s tighter than a fish’s bottom hole. Brent was the best of the centrefire with 377 and placing third overall. He is a smooth operator….smooth as a babies bum. Grant took second overall with 397. Looking at his score, he was Mr Consistent.
Another point worth communicating is the “rate this shoot” result. Well, this week on the Secretaries recommendation, we made a modification. We decided to “rate the club scorer”. The results were overwhelmingly 5 stars from all members, except Joan who rated him 10 out of 10. She said he is off the scale! Next week we will change it up with a “rate the president”. Tune in next week for the results!
Overall, another exceptionally enjoyable fun day. Immense thanks to the members who step up and run the shoot. Brent, Geoff and Glenn. Smooth, efficient and SAFE! They are true professionals.
