Merry Christmas and an awesome New Year

Hello again … Firstly I’d like to thank everyone of you for attending our Christmas event, to celebrate Christmas and the opportunity to get together and enjoy a social atmosphere with members who share a common interest.

As you are aware, Challenges come our way, and they always do … as you can appreciate, we have to be very careful with what we say regarding some of the challenges the club has had to endure.

The recent allegations made and comments made against the club were designed to destroy the reputation of the club, and we were very aware that if not handled correctly, it could have succeeded.

To deal with this, the committee prudentally created a sub-committee, which included our previous president David Miller, who selflessly and diligently contributed.  David has been fantastic to work with, and I am extremely grateful to him for his input.

As an update, we have recently finalised a comprehensive and detailed Incident Report, which we made available to the NSWAPA, SSAA and the Castle Hill RSL Club.

Throughout this investigation the member involved has been suspended. This action was considered appropriate and necessary by the committee and ensure a fair and appropriate investigation.

On the positive side, this episode drew the club together, and the committee really appreciated the support it received from the members, Joan in particular who received more than a hundred calls, emails and messages … it showcases the wonderful spirit of our club, I want to thank the committee for being so steadfast through all this.

This committee is a fantastic blend, like the club membership of the most diverse individuals, each one helping to make the club run successfully for the benefit of the members.

Joan has been, and still is, the backbone of the club, Rob Tomkins, Paul Stuart and Rob Napthali are the soul of the club and run the Air Pistol Club successfully.

Looking ahead, we aim enhance our training programs, encourage greater participation and continue promoting responsible firearms ownership.

We also want to expand our community engagement, working with the Castle Hill RSL Club and to spread awareness about our sport and its safe practices.

We can’t achieve this without you, I’d ask you to contribute your ideas, time, and expertise, supporting each other in our shared vision for the club’s success.

And the future looks reallly bright with the next generation stepping up, willing to learn, I want to thank in appreciation, Jose Da Silva, Ray Manityakul, Wally Shi, Craig West, Graeme Trimmer, Defu Shi and my good friend Jim.

While we didn’t have trophies this year, we have selected some members to accept a small token of appreciation Joan of course, Wally Shi, Craig West, Graeme Trimmer, Veronica Trimmer.

Let us continue to uphold the values of sportsmanship, safety, and friendship that define our club, as a part of the community … thank you all once again.

The celebration was an enjoyable evening, of laughter, talk, discussion, wonderful memories and great friendship
