Many Club members respond with overwhelming support for Joan

I want to thank all the club members for their overwhelming support for our secretary Joan, they were openly angry at the allegations made against her. Obviously due to legal proceedings underway we cannot comment on certain aspects.

Obviously these allegations, have affected her health badly, creating difficulties, and concerned members have been calling her, visiting her personally and emailing, to ensure that she knows that she has their support.

Naturally, we all wish her well.

We can’t publish all of the emails – but we will be publishing extracts.

Joan has been the gateway into welcoming new members over many years … as a result our club membership would have to be the most diverse, made up of people from all walks of life, religions and race, all getting together to enjoy a common interest … thanks Joan 🙂

I have been a member of CHRSLPC, since year 2000. Without being familiar with all the background leading up to the comments from Joan, it appears that just one (or two) members are doing their best to stir up trouble, where none existed.

I have read Joan’s comments and they are of no real concern.; certainly not “racist” towards any individual. It seems she had simply expressed her opinion, which I am assuming are supported by majority of club members.

I have known Joan since I first joined the club in 2000. She has always welcomed members of every race, religion or ethnicity. She has always acted in the best interest of our members, is helpful and supportive.

She, as are (I believe) all members, are “colour blind” as we are about having safe, enjoyable fun, in a friendly environment.
If there occurred an issue with any member(s) that should have been dealt with internally, in accordance with the club constitution, rather than going “public”.

Going “public” in such a way, smacks of vindictiveness, which should play no part in settling internal matters.  Spreading such malicious rumours, to “outsiders” may in itself, result in legal action, under defamation laws.
I’m not aware of the background regarding this situation but my father and myself have been a member of this club for around 35 years. During this time we have never had any issues. The club over the past few years has expanded to try and keep it up and running. More members means more opinions.

Joan and the founding members are straight up people. I think this whole situation has been taking out of hand and as a result is trying to take down our once enjoyable and social club.
